LOTTO NATIONAL YOUTH CHAMPIONSHIPS

Napier City Rovers plays host to the biggest and most prestigious annual under 19 youth tournament in New Zealand.

Some of New Zealand’s top young football stars have descended on Park Island for more than three decades to compete for the top youth prize.

Every Labour weekend sees more than 130 games of exciting football being played at arguably the best footballing venue in the country. Some of the biggest clubs from all over New Zealand compete for the trophy.

Over the years many young players have played in the tournament and went on to gain international status.

You are hereby invited to enter an Under 19 team in New Zealand Football’s Premier Age Group Tournament to be held in Napier from Saturday 22 October to Monday 24 October, 2022.

Men’s Championship:

24 teams will compete in the Championship to find New Zealand Football’s top youth team and applications will close on 30th June 2022.  Entry fee is $1000 + GST.

Bottom 2 teams are relegated to Satellite Competition.

Men’s Satellite:

24 teams. Two finalists will gain the right to automatic entry into next seasons Championship.  Applications close 30th June, 2022.  Entry fee is $1000 + GST. 

Women’s Championship:

24 teams. Entry fee is $1000 + GST.  Applications close 30th June, 2022.  Entry fee is $1000 + GST. 

Any team that withdraws after 31st August, 2022 will forfeit the entry fee.  Notification of withdrawal before 31st August, 2022 will result in a complete refund of the entry fee.

ACCEPTANCE OF ENTRY
Priority 1: 2021 Oringial Draw entries (prior to covid - list on this page) Teams will fall back into orginial competitions (Championship / Satellite)

Priority 2: Teams who filled gaps in 2021

Priority 3: New entries

 All clubs must supply copies of suitable age verification e.g. Birth Certificate or Drivers Licence, for every player listed on your squad list, to the Tournament Management Board at or prior to the Managers Meeting. No player will be permitted to compete in the Tournament without such suitable evidence.

TRAVEL and ACCOMODATION

We're delighted to team up with Haka Sports Tours as our Travel Partner for the U19 National Youth Football Tournament this year. Let them make life easy for you with managing your logistical arrangements for getting to Napier in October. They can look after your flights, accommodation, transport, meals and activities allowing you to focus on preparing your team for the tournament.

MANAGER’S MEETING
This will be held at the Napier City Rovers clubrooms, Clyde Jeffery Drive, Park Island, Napier on Friday 21st October, 2022 and it is essential that your club attends. This meeting will begin at 8.00 p.m.

REFEREES
Teams are invited to supply their own qualified referees, if desired, to work in conjunction with the Central Football Referees Association. The referee’s name should be forwarded at the same time as your squad list (1st October, 2022), so that rosters can be produced. With three point control for every game, referees are always in short supply.
