What is Futsal?

Futsal is the only FIFA and NZ Football approved version of five-aside football and the world’s fastest-growing indoor sport. Futsal is a small-sided – 5v5 – game played with a smaller low bounce ball, on a court without rebound walls or nets. It is a game that combines fun, creativity, speed, technique, teamwork and quick thinking. NZF Futsal has been designed to complement New Zealand Football’s existing programmes and promote and improve participation in football in New Zealand.  All you need is the right attitude, soft soled shoes, long socks & shin pads to play one of the fastest growing indoor sports in NZ.​​​​​​​

TERM 1 2026 Futsal: Registrations are open for Term 1, you’ll need to get in quick and secure your spot for the start of Term 1 2026! The every growing sport in Hawkes Bay means that games will be run on a Monday and Friday night, grades will be confirmed closer to the start of term.

Teams can be made up of all male, all female or a mixture. 

We will look to put players in the team that they have requested but with the changes made to birth year this might not happen.

Registrations will close on the 16th of January 2026. For those that play for Rovers during the winter season will have their own shirt. Those that aren't registered to Rovers, please confirm during registration and we can supply a shirt.

Central Football will publish the draw when completed.​​​​​​​
